1. Who we are
The Home of Communities (communities.direct) is an independent project operated by Itay, mapping communities in Israel. The project is the data controller under Israel's Privacy Protection Law.
2. What we collect
- Anonymous technical data (browser type, OS, partial IP, pages viewed) for analytics.
- Basic usage events (WhatsApp button clicks, page navigations) via Google Analytics 4.
- Information you choose to send us on WhatsApp (name, message content) for reply only.
The site has no signup forms and does not create user accounts.
3. Purposes
- Operating the site and improving the user experience.
- Understanding general usage patterns to improve content.
- Responding to WhatsApp inquiries.
4. Cookies
We use essential cookies and Google Analytics cookies for anonymous usage analysis. You can block cookies via your browser settings; some functionality may be affected.
5. Third parties
We rely on infrastructure providers only: Google (Analytics and Fonts), Cloudflare (image hosting), Supabase (database for the events board) and Lovable (site hosting). We do not sell or share personal information with commercial parties.
6. Retention and security
Analytics data is retained for up to 14 months. WhatsApp messages are stored on the operator's personal device. We apply reasonable safeguards, but no system is entirely secure.
7. Your rights (Amendment 13)
Under Israel's Privacy Protection Law, you have the right to access information held about you, request its correction or deletion, and file a complaint with the Privacy Protection Authority. For any request, contact us on WhatsApp: +972 55-951-8469.
