Harokdim — Israeli Folk Dance

Israeli folk dance is one of the country's truly original phenomena: every evening, on dozens of dance floors nationwide, hundreds of people step into a circle and dance the same steps together. Harokdim is the portal that holds this entire scene in one place.

The core tool is the harkada board: search by area and day and find the nearest session, complete with venue and dance-leader details. Alongside it there's a directory of classes for learning the steps from scratch, and a folk dance radio station playing the repertoire around the clock. For the scene, this is simply home.

How to start? If you've danced before — open the site, find a nearby harkada and show up; the steps come back astonishingly fast. Completely new? Start with a beginners' class, and within a few months the circle will sweep you in too.
